Welcome from the Dean
I am pleased to invite you to join me for the Wharton Global Alumni Forum that will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on May 30-31, 2008. This will be the 14th Global Alumni Forum we have held in Asia and the first ever in Vietnam. This will also be my first Asian Forum as dean, and I am looking forward to meeting many of you for the first time.
The theme for the 2008 forum in Ho Chi Minh City is “Vietnam – Star on the Rise", reflecting the country’s explosive growth, positive business environment and promising future.
Under the leadership of Co-Chairmen Thuy Dam, WG’96 and Sesto Vecchi, W’58, the organizing committee is putting together an excellent program for the Global Alumni Forum in Ho Chi Minh City. For those of you who have attended forums in the past, you know that one of the most important benefits of participation is the personal and professional networking that takes place between sessions and at the meals. For those of you who have not yet attended a Global Alumni Forum, I urge you to consider joining your classmates, professors, and thought leaders from government and industry for a unique experience.
Globalization will be a critical success factor in Wharton’s future. In order to continue our roles as the leading source for business thought and as the leading location for the training of future business leaders, we must all learn and work together. I believe that the Forum in Ho Chi Minh City will provide much food for thought and many opportunities for joint learning. I look forward to participating.
Sincerely,
Thomas S. Robertson
