Phil Tran

Phil Tran is the Chairman and CEO of Glass Egg Digital Media, a game art production house based in Ho Chi Minh City.

Phil sets up Glass Egg in 1999. Since then he has managed every phase of its expansion from inception to its current size of 150 employees. Glass Egg’s client list includes: Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Atari, Codemasters, Midway, Sega and Mattel Media among others.

Prior to Glass Egg Phil was the Director of Asian Operation for Morgan Interactive, an edutaiment game developer in San Franciso. While at Morgan, he managed the production of more than 15 CD-ROM titles, among them the best seller Knowledge Adventure’s Jump Start First Grade.

His first job in Vietnam in 1994 was at DS Pollack & Partners, a French law firm based in Hanoi. There he specialized in Vietnam foreign investment regulations.

Prior to coming to Vietnam, he managed database and graphics applications at Sony Corporations. He also worked in the district office of former Congressman Tom Campbell.

He studied at the University of California at Berkeley and the University of San Francisco School of Law.

Phil was born in Saigon and immigrated to the United States in 1975 when he was twelve years old. He is fluent in Vietnamese.
