Mr. Geicke is the Executive Chairman and Co-founder of Pacific Alliance and VinaCapital Group.
Pacific Alliance is a fund management company founded in 1998 and has three primary funds listed in London, Pacific Alliance Asia Opportunities Fund PAX.LN, Pacific Alliance China Land Fund PACL.LN and ARC Capital Holdings ARCH.LN and two non-listed funds with total in excess of USD 3 billion. Pacific Alliance’s investors include leading institutions as well as high net worth investors from Europe, US and Asia. The Group has over 150 staffs across offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Hangzhou. Pacific Alliance’s investment approach combines deep local knowledge and relationships for sourcing and market access with highly disciplined analysis and execution to deliver superior risk adjusted returns.
VinaCapital founded in 2002 is a leading investment banking and fund management and real estate development company in Vietnam with unrivalled experience in the emerging Vietnam market. The firm leverages this experience and its strategic relationships with global investors to create and deliver investment products, strategic financing, mergers and acquisitions services for broad industries in Vietnam. It manages USD2.7 billion and the three primary funds are also listed in London, Vietnam Opportunity Fund VOF.LN, Vinaland Ltd. VNL.LN and Vietnam Infrastructure Fund VNI.LN.
Mr. Geicke has over 25 years of operational and investment experience in Asia and has privately completed over USD 300 million in investments in the region over the past 13 years. Mr. Geicke is Director on the board of Euro Motors VN, Hilton Hotel and Sofitel Metropole Hanoi as well as Omni Hotel Ho Chi Minh City. He also serves as Director for Goodbaby Group Shanghai, PA Macau Development Corp and a number of other listed and private companies in Asia and the United States.
Mr. Geicke is also an active member of the Hong Kong business community. He is a founding director of the Hong Kong – Thailand Business Council, a member of the Hong Kong – EU Business Cooperation Committee and past member of the Trade and Industry Advisory Board of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR. He was twice elected president of the German Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong in 1995-1997 and 2001-2003, and in 2006 he served as president of the European Chamber of Commerce. From 2001 to 2005, he was director of the Regional Board of the Young Presidents’ Organization. Mr. Geicke served as Honorary Consul General of The Gambia to Hong Kong and Macau from 1988 to 1991.
Mr. Geicke is originally from Germany and received his MBA cum Laude from the University State of Hamburg and has been a residence of Hong Kong since 1981.
